	Funerals and free strings
	I played in the funeral this morning that I mentioned yesterday. I have never been so happy I play the violin before in my life. The widow of the man who did was so excited to have me play. I’d never met her before this morning but it made me really happy I could do something that meant that much to her. Especially today, she was obviously devastated about losing her husband. So I was really happy about playing when I left the funeral home, I got back to my place and found a free set of strings in the mail! I sent Pirastro an email months ago, I’d given up on getting any samples. I’ve never tried Obligatos before. Usually I stick with Dominants or Vision Titanium Solo so it will be interesting to see how my violin responds. 	Should I be upset about this?
	Ok. I’m seriously pissed. I probably shouldn’t be but I am. I went to church this morning and found out we had a floutist playing the special music. No biggie right? Then I get the bulletin. She played the prelude, the special music, while communion was being served and the postlude. Then my oh so lovely pastor thanked her twice at the end of the service – from the pulpit of course. Flute is nice and all but I’m a member of the church! And I’ve never been asked to play more than once in a service. And they don’t bother to thank me at the end either. He made a point to thank me at the beginning of the first service I played in but that’s it. I realize I’m not the only person in the world who can play an instrument but I’m really upset about this. I’m a member of a small symphony orchestra – we may not be the Philharmonic but I’m paid to play. Plus I teach privately. She’s a legal secretary. It’s like he thinks my time isn’t as valuable just because I’m a member of the church. Ugh. Am I totally reading too much into this? Current Mood: annoyed Current Music: Brandenburg Concerto No.1


	Song Recommendation
	A friend sent me “Tim McGraw” by Taylor Swift and it’s seriously amazing. It’s the perfect song to listen to when you’re thinking about that guy. The one who you never really got over but refuse to admit to anyone you still think about. I’ve had it on repeat for the last three hours.
